For you….

22 Feb

The front of this card is made using a fun technique explained by Linda Heller in this week’s Stamping School.

Sanding the dry embossed image made with

SU’s Elegant Lines embossing folder on

designer series paper from the Sunny Garden

kit gives this wonderful white-wash effect.

This little greeting comes from the Cute by the Inch stamp set (currently a Hostess gift). I coloured the stamp with SU Markers – Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz.

I’ve stamped the inside of the card with the stamp from the Friends Never Fade stamp set:

And I photographed the card in our oregano patch as the unopened oregano blooms are reminiscent of these stamps.

(It smelt good enough to eat for some hours afterward!!!)

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!

Dazzle little dragonfly!

20 Feb

The latest challenge at Just Add Ink is a delightful sketch.

I’ve chosen the dragonfly from the Nature’s Nest stamp set.

He’s so much fun to colour and of course he needed Dazzling Diamond wings!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Night of Navy, Always Artichoke

Dsp: Elegant Soiree

Stamp Set: Nature’s Nest, Asian Artistry

Inkpads: Soft Suede, Early Espresso

Other: Dragonfly coloured with SU Markers (Old Olive, So Saffron, Brilliant Blue) and a Blender Pen; Dazzling Diamonds, Night of Navy Ribbon

The dragonfly’s a timid thing,
He’s very pretty, too;
His lacy wings are clear as glass
And delicate as dew.
I don’t know why the dragonfly
Has such a fearful name.
I never saw a dragon
That was nearly half as tame.
