Family car with potential…..

3 Feb

…..if you use a little (or maybe a lot!) of imagination!

The photos are of an old car wreck we found while on our houseboat trip last year.

What a find! Bob started it all by perching in the back, and suggesting Douglas step behind the wheel for a driving lesson. Then we decided Douglas was doing well enough for the whole family to join in! And yes, that is champagne in hand – we’re always celebrating something!

They were ideal pictures to make a funny birthday card for Bob, for his birthday a couple of weeks ago.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, Crumbcake

DSP: Woodland Walk

Ink: Chocolate Chip for sponging the edges of everything

It is a very, very simple card design, but sometimes when your photos tell the story, you don’t need a lot else.

How I wish that fabulous woodgrain paper in Woodland Walk was available in single sheets! I have so many photos that would go well with it. I shall have to eke it out.

Thanks for looking!!

Cheers!

Just Add Ink – Inspiration Challenge 53

31 Jan

Card inspiration challenges always get the grey matter going, and this was a fun combination of colours to use.

Here are the details of supplies used:

Cardstock: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Whisper White

DSP: Peach Parfait paper stack

Stamps: Punch Potpourri (Hostess Set), So Happy for You (Sale-A-Bration 2011)

Punch: Boho Blossoms

Big Shot: Little Leaves Sizzlit Die

Embellishments: SU Rhinestones

I loved the yellow of the sunflower in the inspirational JAI picture, and the use of black on my card was inspired by the centre of the sunflower.

My absence of sunflower stamps sent me to the good old faithful Boho Blossoms. The black panel is set up on Stampin’ Dimensionals; the flowers were curled to add a 3d look and the larger rhinestones were coloured with a black Tombow marker.

This shows the inside of the card.

And a little close-up.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my first blog entry. May you find inspiration in all the glorious colours surrounding you today – we can always take a cue from nature!

Cheers!
